Conrad O'Callaghan
Actor | Stage & Screen Performer
About

I can never remember exactly when I wanted to be an actor. Only that I have always loved performing, and this is why I have made it my life's passion.
A formative experience for me in my acting journey was appearing in the annual Greek Play at UCL. The opportunity to play in front of hundreds of people, in five separate shows at the newly revamped Bloomsbury Theatre, gave me a taste of the professional world and provided me with a newfound resolve to become a professional actor.
Upon graduating from UCL, one of the first steps I took was to secure acting membership at Questors and Tower Theatre - two of the leading non-professional theatre companies in London. Through the Tower Theatre, I was cast in my first musical - an original production of the life, death and legacy of Thomas Becket, which was performed at the Guildhall Yard in the City of London.
The following year, I was accepted onto a foundation course at Mountview. Over the course of six months, I learned how to perform movement and dance routines, to protect and utilise my voice, to recite Shakespeare, to sing both individually and as part of a group, to make my own film and to make bold, creative choices in both auditions and performance. The two showcases as part of the course were major highlights: in the first, I had to embody a rapping witch who moved like a chimpanzee in a reimagined version of Macbeth, and in the latter, I portrayed an incompetent, bumbling Army Captain in an original military courtroom story.
That course, without a doubt, transformed my approach to acting, and I have since secured Spotlight Membership, received a professionally produced showreel, and been cast in several leading roles across stage and screen. At the moment, I am developing and honing skills, trying to secure representation, and hoping to produce a few projects that I have been cultivating behind the scenes for some time.
The most important lesson I have learnt is that with hard work, grit and determination, anything is possible.
Portfolio

This is a photo of my performance as the villainous Edmund in Jester Collective's recent production of Lear. An exciting departure from what I normally play, I enjoyed not only the scheming part of this character that drives most of the plot, but also the motivation behind his deviousness, as society has mistreated him for his whole life.

Six short episodes for social media filmed in one day to mark the opening of the Rulo Padel Club in Chesham. I was delighted to play the hyperactive and eccentric manager, Loui. I was also able to utilise my improv experience from Mountview to deliver some memorable comedic lines. A highly useful and enjoyable experience!

My first journey theatre role since the Pandemic, I was thrilled to be cast in two separate plays as part of Putney Arts Theatre's New Writing Festival. My two roles were a grieving brother and a clown. In this photo, I am playing the former!

Robert Cope, Theatre Life, June 2026
"Conrad O’Callaghan’s Edmund provides the darker counter-current of ambition and resentment. Edmund is one of Shakespeare’s most modern villains, alert to exclusion and eager to turn grievance into advantage, and O’Callaghan gives that thread of the production a useful energy."
Jennifer Thompson Chatburn, Reviews Hub, August 2025
"At the heart of Barron’s work is Finley (Conrad O’Callaghan), an eccentric inventor who is inspiringly innovative and dangerously talented, thriving in his own cluttered space, but rather awkward with those around him."
The Tab, UCL, 2019
"A highlight of the show was Helen Richardson and Conrad O'Callaghan in a hilarious but frightening skit about the dangers of Alexa"
